چکیده
In this paper we apply our results concemmg a new view on a mechanical descnption of strongly curved amphiphllic interfaces to expenmental data available in the literature (Rand et al, 1990) Our theory predicts that, for cyhndncal interfaces, one has to take into account, three elastic moduh corresponding to area extension, bending and mtxed deformations We determine the values of the three elastic moduh for the mtemal dividing surface of strongly curved DOPE monolayer m the Hit-Phase Analysing for this purpose the expenmental we recognise lateral compressibility and bending m the same time As a result we recover the moduh that are closer to work done on bilayer than had been determined m precedent papers considenng only

متن کاملElastic moduli for strongly curved monoplayers. Position of the neutral surface
The existing approaches to interface mechanics descnbe almost flat interfaces and use two elastic moduh corresponding to extension and bending deformations Recently these theones have been applied to systems with a strong curvature and hereby the finite thicknesses of interfaces come into play. We show that for such systems the elastic moduh considerably depend on the choice of the dividing sur...
متن کاملImplementing the New First and Second Differentiation of a General Yield Surface in Explicit and Implicit Rate-Independent Plasticity
In the current research with novel first and second differentiations of a yield function, Euler forward along with Euler backward with its consistent elastic-plastic modulus are newly implemented in finite element program in rate-independent plasticity. An elastic-plastic internally pressurized thick walled cylinder is analyzed with four famous criteria including both pressure dependent and ind...
متن کاملFinite Difference Method for Biaxial and Uniaxial Buckling of Rectangular Silver Nanoplates Resting on Elastic Foundations in Thermal Environments Based on Surface Stress and Nonlocal Elasticity Theories
In this article, surface stress and nonlocal effects on the biaxial and uniaxial buckling of rectangular silver nanoplates embedded in elastic media are investigated using finite difference method (FDM). The uniform temperature change is utilized to study thermal effect. The surface energy effects are taken into account using the Gurtin-Murdoch’s theory. Using the principle of virtual work, the...

Due to the high cost of experimental analyses, researchers used atomistic modeling methods for predicting the mechanical behavior of the materials in the fields of nanotechnology. In the pre-sent study the Self-Consistent Charge Density Functional Tight-Binding (SCC-DFTB) was used to calculate Young's moduli and average potential energy of the straight and curved graphenes with different curvat...
